Overview
As a platform owner, you deploy and manage OpenControlPlane so your teams can self-serve managed ControlPlanes. You configure the providers that back those ControlPlanes and the services that run on them. Your teams interact with the platform through a simple Kubernetes API.
End User
Create ControlPlanes, request services, and manage your custom resources.
This requires a running platform already set up by a Platform Owner.
Platform Owner
Deploy and operate the platform infrastructure for your organization.
This gives End Users a place to create ControlPlanes and consume services.
Service Provider
Build and publish custom providers and service offerings.
This extends the platform with services that End Users can request.
Your Journey
Trying it out locally?
The Quickstart gets you a full local platform in under 10 minutes using ocpctl. No infrastructure required.
Deploying to production? The Production Setup section covers deploying on real infrastructure with Gardener.
